Doctor of Philosophy (Dr. phil.),
as part of the ‘Formations of the Global’ Graduate Program, run by the School of Humanities
The Graduate Program "Formations of the Global" offers doctoral students a stimulating transdisciplinary environment for research on the cultural dimensions of globalization. This three-year program centers around the disciplines history, literature, and media and communication studies, with the latter focusing on the role of the media in processes of collective cross-border identification. The program supports doctoral students in conducting their individual research and offers a continuous weekly research seminar as the central point of intellectual exchange. In addition, students take two advanced courses from the offerings of the three participating disciplines. The program also offers a demand-driven set of training courses in key qualifications and soft skills for young researchers.
